It began as a way of making sense of the things that changed me. Cancer. Menopause. The breakdown of a thirty three year marriage. The quiet grief of letting go of who I thought I would be and the unexpected freedom of becoming someone new.

These paintings explore the visible and invisible scars women carry through life. The marks left by love, loss, motherhood, illness, resilience and survival. Some stories are spoken. Others are held quietly beneath the surface for years.

Each work is layered with texture, symbolism and materials that hold meaning. In some pieces I have incorporated disposable medical robes collected during cancer scans, embedding fragments of lived experience directly into the work. What might appear fragile at first glance is often a record of strength.
